Need to wait for a day or two?

Updated: Apr 1, 2019

Spring has come to Tokyo! The day temperature reached 20 degrees Centigrade for the last few days. Today I went to Chidori-ga-fuchi near the Imperial Palace, one of the best cherry blossoms viewing spots in Tokyo to check the status of cherry blossoms there. Unfortunately, even one among some hundred cherry trees has not yet started its blooming except a few buds. But I saw a lot of buds turned pink color and be ready to bloom within a few days. At another viewing spot called Yasukuni shrine, just a neighborhood of Chidori-ga-fuchi, started the blooming today, they announced. I’m sure cherry trees in this area also will follow the movement to start blooming by this weekend.
