100-year old Western-style brick house is a cultural heritage

Rose garden in Furukawa garden

Old Furukawa garden, one of the cultural heritage gardens in Tokyo, is a combination of western-style and Japanese-style gardens. Western-style garden has symmetrical beauty and it is full of various kinds of roses. They are in full bloom now. The residential house is designed by a British architect Josiah Condor, who was hired by the Japanese government as the 1st professor of faculty architecture in Tokyo University. The house was built almost 100 years ago with Scottish classic design using brick laying covered with stones. Brick house surrounded by roses is very cute and beautiful.
