【Tokyo destinations】Hibiya, entertainment & culture town

Hibiya locates within a walking distance from the most famous and prestigious shopping district, Ginza. Though Hibiya is a part of the large shopping district now, its original quality is entertainment and culture town. When Japan opened the country to the world and tried to catch up with European countries, 1st dance hall named Rokumeikan was built here to show the westernization. Later museums and theatres were built one after another, and Hibiya became a canter of entertainment and culture. Now a statue of the most famous Japanese movie star is standing in front of the building of his film company. He is Godzilla, king of the monsters (the movie is now on the show).
